Summer Party 2026 – The Ultimate Bavarian Olympics
In high spirits, lots were drawn to determine the groups. Teams were formed and the crowd chanted battle cries!
Right on time at 2:00 p.m., the starting signal was given for an Olympics across the entire company building.
In the background, a young pig had been sizzling on an original Balkan grill since early morning, and the organizing team had their hands full right up until the starting signal.
Things really got going as everyone set out to score as many Olympic points as possible:
At station 1, teams had to drive a nail into a piece of wood as quickly as possible.
A rubber boot had to be thrown as far as possible at station 2. Most of them landed in the direction of the company entrance – though a few strays ended up in the parking lot or the bushes!
At station 3, participants had to grab pretzels against the clock, which wasn’t as easy as it sounds but was a lot of fun.
The obligatory beer mug was hoisted at station 4. Kudos to Arthur, who held the heavy mug outstretched and steady for more than 8 minutes – unbelievable!!
There was a lot of laughter at station 5 during the traditional costume run, which had to be completed in a plaid shirt, suspenders, a hat, and an apron. Against the clock, of course.
At station 6, the white sausage relay was run along the same course. Sounds simple, but it wasn’t. The white sausages refused to stay on the spoons and went flying off every now and then! That meant starting all over again.
A colleague tried to calculate the flight path for the beer coaster’s target throw at station 7, which is difficult in theory and didn’t quite work in practice. Never mind – fun it was!
At station 8, beer coasters had to be flipped in the air and landed back on the table to score a point.
Station 9 was an obligatory guessing game, and station 10 was a quiz about – of course – Bavaria. Did you know that “Servus” etymologically comes from “slave” / “servant”?
At the end, all the points were tallied and the winners were announced:
The team led by Verena, Alajdin, and Alexander Bruno won the grand prize with their battle cry “Pack ma’s” (Let’s go) and were delighted to receive wonderful Bavarian-inspired gift baskets. Teams 2 and 3 also received a small prize, including a nicely decorated gingerbread heart. All guests were delighted to receive SLEE socks and a bag of pretzels!
The party continued in style with young pig and grilled meats, grilled cheese and feta, fresh draft beer, and all sorts of delicacies. As a surprise, two colleagues treated us to a SLEE muffin and some fresh Italian ice cream.
